Supervising Lead Investigators
This course is for Team Managers/similar who are responsible for the supervision of the Investigators of an alleged abuse and for ensuring that all procedures are followed as per organisational procedures.
Aim
To ensure candidates are aware of the importance of the correct procedures which must be adhered to, according to their policy and procedural guidance, and their particular roles and responsibilities in ensuring compliance.
Content will include:
- Knowledge of and implementation of organisation's multiagency Safeguarding Adults policy and procedures with attention to timescales required
To understand own roles and responsibilities in relation to:
- Allocating an Investigating Officer to lead the multiagency investigation
- Ensuring action taken by those responsible for:
- Safety of alleged victim
- Where appropriate, Police and CSCI have been informed
- Safeguarding Adults Manager/or equivalent has been informed
- That compliance with requirements of database system e.g. CareFirst/other is made
- Responsibilities for the calling of the Safeguarding Adults Strategy meeting (and chairing of meeting)
- Responsibilities for chairing Safeguarding Adult Case Conferences
- Responsibilities for monitoring and reviewing Safeguarding Protection Plans
- Understand training needs and support of all other staff involved with Safeguarding Adults practice, including personnel such as Minute Secretaries, who may be exposed to information which may be distressing
