This course will address multicultural issues in Child Protection
Suitable for:
All staff and volunteers who come into contact with African children and families where knowledge of culture, religion and child protection is required

To develop the knowledge and skills necessary to work effectively, sensitively and empathetically

Objectives:
At the end of the course the delegate will be able to:
- Consider attitudes and values that may affect the practice of safeguarding African children
- Understand issues around private fostering
- Have understanding about culture and female genital mutilation
- Have knowledge on child trafficking and
- Global issues
- Understand their role within the child protection process
- Explain local child protection procedures
- Consider the co-ordinated and consistent approach to child protection
