Personal Safety (Dealing with Violence and Aggression)
Course Overview
This powerful workshop has been designed to help staff develop
skills and gain confidence in dealing with angry or aggressive
individuals, and to reduce the risk of staff becoming a victim of
violence. It gives delegates an opportunity to develop strategies for
defusing difficult or challenging behaviour, whilst remaining in
control of any conflict situation and your emotional responses to it.
In the workplace the behaviour of one in ten people – colleagues or members of the public – is likely to cause undue stress. Even the most effective among us suffer the by-products of this behaviour ; distraction, lack of concentration, time wasting, poor productivity, absenteeism, stress and ill- health being just some of them. We may not be able to choose whom we work or live with, but we can choose how we deal with them.
