Personal Safety at Work - Breakaway Move Away Course
This course has been developed for those people who work in the caring professions and for those who work with others, but might at some time find themselves in a situation that is threatening to their safety, through challenging behaviour that can lead to an assault
Aims
To teach effective techniques which can be used to:
- Effect a release from various one-to-one situations.
- Remain safe and remove themselves from conflict
- Step back and gain control of difficult situations
- Remain calm and allow the aggressor to keep their dignity
The course will teach delegates how to move effectively and to be aware of what is around them
Objectives
- Delegates will look at potentially dangerous situations and be able to take appropriate preventative action
- Delegates will look at how to move and stand with confidence
- Delegates will learn how to effect a release from a one to one lock when they have been grabbed and held physically
- They will have the confidence to raise the alarm and get help
- Delegates will be able to use calming techniques which will assist a release
