Aims:
To enable delegates to

• comply with legal obligations relating to moving and handling
• assess risk when involved in assisting a person to move as part of duties
• develop safer moving and assisting for clients, self and colleagues

Objectives:

• A working knowledge of legal frameworks to enable compliance
• A working knowledge of biomechanics as pertaining to moving and handling 
• Up to date knowledge and skills in safer handling techniques including current 'good practice' techniques and awareness of equipment available
• Ability to apply safe principles as outlined in policy guidance and training when working with powered equipment and small handling aids.
• Ability to assess risk and consider practical solutions to moving and assisting problems
