Managers Moving and Handling Foundation
Aims
To enable delegates to
- comply with legal obligations relating to moving and handling
- assess risk when involved in assisting a person to move as part of duties
- develop safer moving and assisting for clients, self and colleagues
Objectives:
- A working knowledge of legal frameworks to enable compliance
- A working knowledge of biomechanics as pertaining to moving and handling
- Up to date knowledge and skills in safer handling techniques including current 'good practice' techniques and awareness of equipment available
- Ability to apply safe principles as outlined in policy guidance and training when working with powered equipment and small handling aids.
- Ability to assess risk and consider practical solutions to moving and assisting problems
