Emergency First Aid at Work (1 Day Course)
Course Overview:
First Aid is the initial assistance given to a casualty in a medical or trauma emergency before the arrival of higher qualified medical help.
This one day course is suitable for the 'Appointed Person' in workplaces to support the named First Aider or where a named First Aider is not legally required.
Aims:
Delegates cover the key requirements of the Appointed Person necessary to attain a qualification in Emergency First Aid and learn basic life support skills that will make them more confident to take charge of an emergency.
Content
At the end of the course delegates will be able to recognise and treat a casualty requiring emergency first aid treatment.

- Module 3 Emergency First Aid in the Workplace
- Module 4 Responsibilities of the Emergency First Aider
- Module 5 Action in an Emergency

- Module 7 Secondary Assessment
- Module 8 Breathing and Circulation
- Module 9 Principles of Resuscitation
- Module 10 Disorders of Respiration
- Module 11 Disorders of the Circulation
- Module 12 Wounds and Bleeding
- Module 13 Other Conditions

Certification: For 3 years, upon full participation of all practical aspects of the session.
