<< Back to previous page

Course Overview:
Despite being vital to the success of a business, many managers have never received training on how to supervise people effectively. This course will benefit people who are new to supervision or more experienced managers who have had little or no formal training in this area.

Timing
Customised to suit the needs of the commissioner. Can range from half a day to 2 days training ( roughly 3 weeks apart) followed by a half day recall session.

Aims
This course will help participants deal more effectively and confidently with the people that they manage, helping them to become more engaged in what they do and to perform to a higher standard thus making the transition from team member to a competent and respected supervisor.

Learning Outcomes

  • To learn about different management and supervisory styles and how your personal style impacts on others
  • To recognise the different needs of the people you manage and explore ways of using supervisor to motivate them and help them to succeed.

  • To learn how to deliver quick and effective feedback during supervision in the workplace (both positive and negative).
  • To use supervision to deal with 'people problems' quickly, confidently and professionally.
  • To explore ways of using the supervision process to enhance levels of performance

Methodology
This day will promote learning through facilitated discussions, experiential learning, case studies, exercises etc., and the opportunity to practice skills.
